For Goodness Sake, a Bristol-based not-for-profit organization held its first annual fundraiser, “A Plate at the Table” on Nov. 2, 2014 at Anthony Jacks Wood Fire Grill in Southington.

Over 130 people attended the event, which helped raise over $5,000 to help its mission to provide furniture and other household goods to individuals and families recovering from homelessness.

During the event, attendees were able to participate in a silent auction and enter for a chance to win door prizes. There were over 28 baskets and items to choose from including an autographed Derek Jeter baseball, a theater basket worth $300, an ultimate spa basket valued at $500, and a restaurant basket with $250 worth of gift cards. The live music, courtesy of Stay Tuned, added a special touch to the day.

“We could not be happier with the incredible turnout and outpouring of support from the community. This gives us the ability to continue bringing resources to the communities that we service; continuing our mission by transforming empty living spaces into a homes,” said Kendra Morales, executive director of For Goodness Sake, in a press release.

If you were unable to attend the event and would like to make a contribution visit forgoodnessake.org or contact Jessica Dunn, director of Outreach and Community Relations at (860)463-7137 with questions.
