Planet Fitness, the health club franchise known for its Judgment Free Zone and affordable prices, has partnered with several Connecticut food banks to help communities in need.

Beginning Nov. 9, Planet Fitness kicked off the holiday season by sponsoring a 10‐day canned food drive in each of their locations and a special – Pick Your Own Price – enrollment offer for new members. Collected food items and the enrollment proceeds will be donated to designated food banks throughout the state shortly after the campaigns culminate on Nov. 19.

“Last year, we were able to donate thousands of canned food items and over $14,000 in enrollment fees,” says Matt Wilcox, vice president of Marketing in a press release. “We would love to increase these amounts this year and continue to help ease the burden our neighbors may be experiencing, especially during this holiday season,he concluded.

Slated to receive the generosity of Planet Fitness members are: Connecticut Food Bank Connecticut Foodshare Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County Friends of Assisi Food Pantry Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center Meriden Salvation Army Salvation Army of NW Hills.
