It’s a quest for the best crust, the best sauce, the best that Bristol has to offer in all things pizza – and it’s a fundraiser for a new college scholarship for a Bristol student. The Bristol Rotary Club Great Pizza Challenge is on. Pizza makers from across the MumCity are donating their best pies to compete in the event, which will be held Sunday, March 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the dining hall of the Giamatti Little League center on Mix Street. The public is invited to sample a variety of pizzas and vote for their favorites in a slew of categories. “Bristol has some great pizza, and we want the community to help us find the best of the best while helping a local student with college costs,” said Jackie Majerus-Collins, president of the Bristol Rotary Club, via a press release. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.” Winners will be recognized in the media, get award certificates, and bragging rights. In addition to offering tastes of the best pizzas in town, the club will be raffling off prizes donated by local restaurants, museums, performing arts centers, ESPN, and other generous individuals and businesses.
