Rosemary C. (Chapin) Fournier, 89, of Bristol, widow of Edward R. Fournier, Sr., died at her home on Sunday, July 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born in Bristol on October 6, 1926, and was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Rosemary (Hennessey) Chapin. A lifelong Bristol resident, she graduated from St. Joseph Grammar School and Bristol High School, and she attended Bristol Secretarial School. She worked at the Bristol City Clerk’s office and was a secretary many years at South Side School before retiring. She was a member of the Bristol Historical Society, the Bristol Federal Hill Association, and St. Joseph Church, Bristol. Rosemary is survived by four sons and daughters in law, Scott F. and Karen Fournier, Leigh R. and Claire Fournier, all of Bristol, Edward R. Fournier, Jr. D.M.D and Patricia Fournier, of Wolcott, and James B. and Beth Fournier of Burlington; a brother, John H. Chapin of Plymouth; nine grandchildren, Bryan, Leanne, Edward III, Kara, Kathryn, John, Gregory, Alycia, and Sydney; 10 Great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rosemary was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Michaud and Jeanne Grady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
