Obituaries: Katherine C. Smith

Katherine C. (Cavalle) Smith, 90, of Bristol, widow of Robert E. Smith Sr., passed away on Tuesday (February 23, 2016) at The Pines at Bristol.  Katherine was born in Hepzibah, WV on January 18, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Lucy (Loretta) Cavalle.  She was a longtime resident of Bristol and had worked at Drill-Right MFG, Southington.  Katherine was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Matthew Church and served as Vice President and Secretary.  She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert and Jill Smith Jr. and Barry Smith all of Bristol; three grandchildren: Jason Smith, Jessica and Gary Chabre and Matthew Smith; two great-grandchildren: Romeo and Abrielle and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a granddaughter: Courtney Smith; a daughter-in-law: Maryellen Smith and a sister; Mary Navarini. Funeral services will be held on Monday (February 29, 2016) at 8:45 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave. Bristol, to St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave. Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM.
