Makendra Mowad, 7, of Bristol is teaming up with Savers of Bristol and the Wolcott Grange 173.

From now through Oct. 25, she is collecting clothing, linens, accessories, shoes, sheets, blankets, and toys.

On Sunday, Oct. 25, volunteers will be at the Wolcott Grange, 313 Boundline Rd., Wolcott from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ready and willing to take your donation items.

Items can be dropped off anytime in Bristol to Makendra’s home by calling (203)233-1216.

You will receive a tax donation slip and a coupon for 30 percent off at Savers. Items can be new or used but in clean condition please.

The Wolcott Grange was established in 1909. A few years ago the Master died and membership dropped. The building was closed and damaged due to a harsh winter. For the last few years under the leadership of Tony D’Amato of Bristol, the organization has repaired and restored the historic building. There is a picnic area under shaded trees, a community garden that provides vegetables to those less fortunate, a fully accessible handicapped ramp, a newly expanded parking lot….all which have led to being awarded a town beautification award. Recently, the Grange opened a rental hall for weddings, showers, stags, birthday parties, family reunions, etc.
