A cashier was injured during an armed robbery at a Broad Street gas station on Thursday night. The suspect is still at large, according to police.
Police said that at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, the Citgo gas station, 436 Broad St., was robbed by an armed suspect. Police said the suspect demanded money from the night cashier, who refused to hand over any money. The suspect then pistol whipped the cashier with a handgun that he had moments earlier displayed.
A passing motorist stopped and dialed 9-1-1 when he came upon the bloodied cashier standing in the roadway, said police.
Police described the suspect as a white male, possibly in his late 20s and wearing a gray-colored sweatshirt. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, described as possibly being gray or silver, northbound on Andrews Street.
Police said the suspect made off with an undetermined amount of money.
The cashier was transported by ambulance to Bristol Hospital and treated for injuries he sustained.
The robbery remains under investigation by both the Bristol Police patrol and detective Divisions.
