Bristol man arrested after attempted robbery

A Bristol man was arrested Thursday night after attempting to rob a 57-year-old woman while she was walking on Gridley Street. Richard Labouliere, 29, of 611 Wolcott Rd., Bristol was arrested Thursday night and charged with third degree criminal attempt at robbery, second degree criminal attempt at larceny, third degree assault, second degree breach of peace, illegal possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. A press release said just before 11 p.m. Thursday night the victim was walking westbound on Gridley Street when Labouliere allegedly attempted to take the woman’s handbag causing her to fall to the ground where she sustained minor injuries. The woman was able to hold onto her handbag and screamed for help, causing the victim to flee the scene, the release said. The victim’s husband was on his way to meet her during the incident. Bristol police were able to locate the suspect, who was identified by the victim. Labouliere was held on a $50,000 bond pending his court appearance on Monday, April 21.
