Did you know that in Victorian America widows would save their mourning tears in tiny glass vials known as Tear Catchers? Do you know how Victorians protected themselves from mistakenly being buried alive? These and many other 19th century mourning customs and superstitions, along with a mystery program, will be revealed in “Saying Goodbye in Victorian America.” Written and produced in a visual presentation by Tom La Porte, it will be presented at the Bristol Historical Society, 98 Summer St., Bristol, on Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. Admission is free to members, $5 for non-members.
