The Bristol Blues defeated the first place Seacoast Mavericks 7-4 July 23, giving the Blues wins in back to back nights. Sebastian DiMauro (U of Hartford) made his first start of the year, running into trouble in the early innings before stringing together five straight scoreless innings. He finished with a line of 7 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 8 K, earning his first win of the season. The Blues bats were alive once again tonight, putting up eleven hits. Austin Chauvin (St. Mary’s) continued his torrid pace at the plate with a 2-4 day, adding a run and an RBI. His big day raised his team-high average to .393. Lorenzo Arcuri (Youngstown State) gave the Blues the lead in the bottom of the third with a ringing two-run double off the right field wall, finishing the day 2-4 with a walk and 3 RBI. Catcher Chris Villa (Seton Hall) added a pair of hits of his own, finishing the day 2-4 with a run, while providing his typical stellar defense behind the dish. The Blues are back at Muzzy Field tomorrow night at 5 PM, taking on the North Shore Navigators. The announced attendance at Muzzy Field tonight was 1,900.
