Ruth A. Draper, 94, of Bristol, passed to her eternal rest peacefully on Thursday (June 9, 2016) at The Pines at Bristol. Ruth was born in Bristol on January 15, 1922 and was one of nine children of the late Harold and Sarah (Shores) Draper. She was a lifelong Bristol resident and graduate of Bristol High School. A lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church, she was a secretary at the Bristol Boys Club until retiring in 1986. She was active with the Legion of Mary for over 30 years. Ruth is survived by two sisters: Lois Smith of Terryville and Joan Stempien of Bristol; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Harold, William, Robert, and Richard Draper, and two sisters: Rosemary Draper and Marian Draper. Funeral services will be held on Monday (June 13, 2016) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen Street, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Sunday between 3 and 5 PM.
