Over six months ago in October 2015, a Pitbull that Friends of the Animal Shelter named Autumn was found by Animal Control Offers Ray Zagurski as a throw away mom. She was posted on the Friends of Bristol Animal Shelter facebook page because the Friends needed help, said a press release from the organization. “Autumn was terrified, shaking, lonely and broken.”
Her photo was shared over 50,000 times, said the press release. Since then thousands of people have been following Autumn’s story. “In January 2016, her best buddy Tyson went to his forever home and we continued to work tirelessly to find her a home also,” said the release
The Friends said, “Despite having two rescues working with us, we could not find a foster home. We had no idea what we were going to do we never had a case like her before. With the ACO’s help and our wonderful trainer Allen Szykula who works at Camp Bow Wow of South Windsor we have transformed her into an amazing dog.”
The Friends’ release said, “Although she loves the ACOs Brian Skinner and Ray Zagurski as well as key Friends volunteers Trish Ulin, Lindsey Rivers and Allen Szykula, Autumn needed a home of her own and to get out of the pound with a new family.”
“The Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter are happy to report that … after eight long months in Bristol’s animal control building she has been adopted,” said the release.
