Obituaries: Robert M. Rafaniello, DDS

Robert M. Rafaniello, DDS, 87, of Farmington, CT, husband of Janet (Rinas) Rafaniello, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Hartford Hospital. Robert was born in Bristol, CT on August 4, 1928 and was the son of the late Alfred and Mary (Mascato) Rafaniello. He was a longtime Bristol resident prior to moving to Farmington. He was a partner in the dental firm of Fierri & Rafaniello in Bristol, CT from 1962 to 1986. He then moved to Farmington where he was a partner in the dental firm of Rafaniello & Lindbald where he remained until his retirement in 2010. Bob was a champion basketball player in high school. His team was inducted in to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Ma. In later life he enjoyed golfing, tennis, and photography. Besides his wife, Robert is survived by a son: Daniel Rafaniello, of West Hartford; two daughters and a son-in-law: Robin and John Donovan, of Portland, ME and LeAnne Rafaniello, of Newington, CT; his brother: Alfred “Fred” Rafaniello, of Bristol; two granddaughters: Jessica and Andrea Donovan and several nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by a brother: Joseph Rafaniello and two sisters: Angelina Fusciello and Olympia “Lilly” Marinelli. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 9 am from the Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, to St. Anthony Church 111 School St, Bristol, CT for a mass of Christian burial at 10 AM.
