Southington Catholic School co-pastors, Father Ronald May and Father Nicholas Melo, announce the appointment of Eileen Sampiere as the new school principal, effective July 1.
Sampiere is currently the principal of Corpus Christi School in Wethersfield. During her 24 year tenure at Corpus Christi, she is credited with implementing major renovations and additions to the school, increasing enrollment, and shepherding Corpus Christi to its status as a National Blue Ribbon School.
She has served on many key Archdiocesan committees and has been a respected mentor to other Catholic school principals throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Deputy Superintendent Maria Maynard remarked, according to a press release, “The hallmarks of Eileen Sampiere’s service to the archdiocese are a passion for Catholic school education, a sincere love of children, and the desire to partner with parents in the development of their children in a safe, nurturing, faith-filled environment.”
Southington Catholic School is marking the completion of its inaugural year at 133 Bristol St. The school opened in August 2015 after the merger of St. Dominic and St. Thomas schools.
