Obituaries: Greg J. Aube

Greg J. Aube, 57 of Bristol, passed away on Friday (April 22, 2016) at Bristol Hospital. Greg was born in New Britain on June 3, 1958 to Phyllis “Trixie” (Zielinski) and the late Robert “Rusty” Aube.  After graduating from EC Goodwin Technical High School, Greg worked as a toolmaker for Grosite Industries (EDAC) and recently at Shop Rite of Bristol. When he wasn’t working, his interests included doing war reenactments, watching NASCAR races and cheering for the Oakland Raiders. During one of his reenactments, a recreation of the Battle of the Bulge, he received the High Award for his extraordinary work. He was a talented tailor and enjoyed creating and providing historically correct replicas of military jackets for his fellow reenactors. He was a kind and compassionate person who was always willing to help. In addition to his heartbroken mother, Greg is survived by his two sisters: Michele Aube-Stadler, Pompano Beach, FL, Lisa Aube, Deerfield Beach, FL; nieces and nephews: Richard J. Aube, Jr, Joy Peck, Hayley Schwab; and great-niece: Scarlett Peck. In addition to his father, Greg was pre-deceased by his brother Rick Aube and long-time companion Pat Mullen. A graveside service will be celebrated at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave, Bristol, CT on Thursday (April 28, 2016) at 11:30 a.m.  There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to DAV (Disabled American Veterans), P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
