On his Facebook page, Mayor Ken Cockayne posted the following holiday message to the citizens of Bristol.
“I want to take this opportunity to wish each of you a very happy Holiday Season and I send to you warmest thoughts and best wishes for a Happy New Year. This is a special time of year to hopefully put aside some of the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to gather with family and friends. During these holidays, I reflect on the many events and activities taking place around Bristol, the spirit of giving to others and the generosity in our community. It’s a time to be thankful for the many blessings we have both in our community and in our personal lives.
“As we celebrate, let us also remember the servicemen and women who place themselves in harm’s way for the freedoms we all enjoy.
“I look forward to the New Year with great optimism and sense of duty to continue to make Bristol a better place to work and live. I extend my thanks to each of you for everything you do to make Bristol great.
“From my family to yours, have a safe and joyful holiday season.
“Best wishes,
