Connecticut residents are invited to discover – and rediscover – the state’s arts, history and tourism offerings with a variety of special incentives, such as discounted or free admission, free gifts or special exhibits and activities during the 11th Annual Open House Day on Saturday, June 13.

The New England Carousel Museum in Bristol will offer free admission and free carousel rides for children from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The admission fee for adults is $6, which includes, in addition to the Carousel Museum, a tour of the Museum of Fire History, the Museum of Greek Culture and the fine art galleries in the Museum building. Visit our gift shop.

The Chaparrals who play regularly at the Carousel Museum, will perform country western and soft rock dance music live from 7 until 11 p.m. Admission is $12, BYOB.

Open House Day is a way for you to experience all the state has to offer and to encourage you to take pride in sharing your new discoveries with visiting family and friends. The annual event is coordinated by the Connecticut Office of Tourism, a division of the Department of Economic & Community Development.

The New England Carousel Museum is located at 95 Riverside Ave. in Bristol in a 33,000 square foot restored hosiery factory.
