In a press release, the Mayor’s Office announced that Felicidad Café House, a café offering live music, social events, and healthy food, is officially open for business at 245 Main Street, former home of Bristol Hairdressing School and most recently Bristol Billiards.

Felicidad Café House owner Freddy Sinchi is a local entrepreneur with a passion for life and the city he has made his home since moving here eight years ago from New York City, originally hailing from Ecuador, said the press release. He believes in Bristol, especially the downtown area where he’s seen a lot of change and growth, the release said.

According to Sinchi, the release from the mayor’s office said, he knew he wanted to promote the arts, as well as health and happiness. “I am a musician, and I love to play the trumpet and make music so that people can dance and enjoy themselves, so that is my next business. I named it ‘Happiness Café’, because I want everyone to be happy and enjoy their life,” Sinchi said.

The release Sinchi plans to offer a wide variety of social events at the café, including comedy, dancing, mariachi bands, and even Zumba. They are currently serving lunch six days a week, and a breakfast menu is in the works. Additionally, the space can be rented for birthdays, sit-down banquets, holiday parties, and more.

“We are very excited for the opening of Felicidad Café House in downtown Bristol. It will bring a new, vibrant business to our City and compliment recent successful business openings on Main Street,” said Mayor Ken Cockayne, according to the news release.

This is Sinchi’s second business in Bristol. Five years ago, he opened T-Salon, a full service hair and nail salon also located on Main Street.

With another addition to Main Street, the release reported, downtown Bristol continues to flourish.

“As the city continues to develop, we are always welcoming new businesses. From retail to restaurants to recreation and more, we want residents to feel confident that Bristol has everything they need to live and thrive in our City,” said Cockayne in the news release.

The café is open Monday through Saturday. For hours and information about events, check out their Facebook page by searching “Felicidad Café House, Bristol, CT.”Feliciadad resturant opens on Saturday- (2)
