After almost two years of being closed for renovations, the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center, on Shrub Road in Bristol, will reopen to the public on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A Spring Fair, sponsored by the Bristol Rotary Club, will help celebrate this landmark event. The fair and nature center will be open to the public free of charge and will host a variety of music, food, crafts, family activities, animal exhibits, trail walks, and programs about nature and the environment.

A brief ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. to commemorate the reopening of the center with presentations by city and state officials as well as by Scott Heth, executive director of the Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut, which owns and operates the Barnes Nature Center.
