The Bristol History Room, which houses the local history collection of the Bristol Public Library, will be open on Saturday, April 18 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The room has books about Bristol, pictures and postcards, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death and marriage indexes, city directories, and yearbooks. There are nearly a hundred historic images of Bristol on permanent display in the local history room including dozens of pictures of Lake Compounce and a temporary display of a New Departure door alarm, objects made by the National Marine Lamp Company, the American Silver Company, and Holmes and Tuttle.
