The Connecticut Department of Transportation and City of Bristol will conduct a Public Informational Meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the intersections of Connecticut Route 69 (West Street) at Connecticut Route 72 (Park Street and School Street) to address vehicular and pedestrian safety concerns and improve traffic operations.

The Informational Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 31 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall.

The proposed concept will realign the Connecticut Route 69 and 72 intersection by shifting Connecticut Route 72 to the north to provide a more conventional four-way intersection configuration. The existing Divinity Street/Park Street intersection will be eliminated and a new “T” type intersection would be formed by extending Pratt Street north to Park Street.

A plan of the proposed improvements is available for viewing in the Public Works Office on the ground floor of City Hall. The Connecticut Department of Transportation contact for the project is Hugh H. Hayward, transportation principal engineer, who can be reached at Hugh.Hayward@ct.gov, or (860)594-3219. The City of Bristol contact is Walter Veselka, public works director, who can be reached at walterveselka@bristolct.gov or (860)584-6104.
