Upcoming events at senior center

The following events will be happening at the Bristol Senior Center on 240 Stafford Ave.

Spinal Stenosis Lecture: On Wednesday, March 11 at 10 a.m. Dr. Khan from the Hartford Healthcare group will be discussing the causes and treatment options of spinal stenosis.

Colorectal Cancer Lecture: On Wednesday, March 18 at 10 a.m. Bristol Hospital is sponsoring a talk on colorectal cancer to observe Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

Connecticut Senior Billiards League Championships: On Wednesday, March 18 at 12 p.m. at Shooters in Southington the teams representing area senior centers will be squaring off in an individual and team tournament. This is the first annual event for this newly formed league. Area teams that will be represented include Bristol, Cromwell, Plainville, and Prospect.

St. Patrick’s Day Event: On Monday, March 23 at 3 p.m. at the Bristol Senior Center, there will be a corned beef and cabbage dinner cooked by the Korean War Veterans. The entertainment will be Dierdre McMorrow and Paul Pender performing Irish tunes. The cost for the event is $10 and you must be a member of the Bristol Senior Center to get a ticket.

Social Security Office: The Bristol Senior Center is host to a remote Social Security Office every Wednesday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. You do not need to reserve a time. The office is open first-come, first-served.

Daily Activities: Visit the Senior Center to see activities including cribbage, ping pong, pinochle, woodworking, Wii bowling, exercise classes, art classes, bingo, social dancing, puzzles, pickle ball, bridge, Mah-jong, computer classes, dental clinic, foot clinic, fitness room, billiards, the senior lunch program, and more.
