The Boys & Girls Club and Family Center of Bristol will be hosting Family Farms Day at Roberts Orchards located at 125 Hill St. on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 6. Roberts Orchards will feature scheduled activities including afternoon hayrides, pumpkin decorating, face painting, magic, hands on activities, performers and much more. Walk around mascots will be at the event including characters from the Bristol Theater Arts from “Seussical the Musical.” Build a Scarecrow Shindig will be taking place from 12 to 3 p.m. Families are welcome to bring clothes or choose from bins of clothes donated by Savers of Bristol. A variety of activities sponsored by various community groups such as the Bristol Fire Department, Federal Hill Association, Bristol Public Library, Imagine Nation Museum Torch Club, and others. The 12th annual Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest will be held at 2 p.m. Children ages 5 to 15 are invited to enter this zany beauty contest where a team of judges will be looking for the most worn out and smelliest pair of sneakers they can find.
