Connecticut Light & Power sent the following email to the mayors office regarding a potential scam for utility payment… “Good morning, Businesses in our area have received calls instructing them to make a utility payment by purchasing a “Green Dot” VISA card. This is NOT legitimate. CL&P does not ask customers to purchase prepaid cards. If you receive this type of call, please report it to local police, and share this information with your employees, family, friends and neighbors.
