Boy and mother struck by car

A 5-year-old boy and his mother sustained minor injuries after being hit by a car Saturday evening on Gridley Street. A press release said the boy ran out between two parked cars, and his mother ran after him. A car that was being driven by Ilona Bartnicki, 21, of 49 Field St., Bristol was going westbound and struck the two individuals. The mother and child were transported to St. Francis Hospital for minor injuries. The press release said the accident is still under investigation and no charges had been filed as of Monday.
